Manga Review Sundays

Madame President the Vice President here with a manga review about Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam

This is a series with no anime, It is the sequel set 10 years after the events of the Gundam F91 (movie). You don't need to watch the movie to enjoy this series. (a friend of mine who has seen 25 episodes of the original Gundam liked this manga)

This manga follows the main character, a student who is going to the Jupiter Colony to study as part of an exchange program. The transport is attacked by a group of pirates and the kid ends up being picked up by them after he helps a girl escape the military on the transport. He quickly learns things aren't always as they seem and has to make some deep personal decision on what he should do, which side is the bad guys and the reasons people are fighting.

The manga had a bit of a following when it was coming out though the sequel series did not. It has some mature themes found throughout a few Gundam series and as it's a manga and not anime it can just be labeled for older people easier.  The fights are interesting and the mobile suit designs are cool. Each issue had at the end mechanical specification for some of the mobile suits and why they were designed. It's a good series, If you like Gundam I recommend watching the movie first then reading. If you jsut want a manga then you can read this one
