Anime Review: Fate/Zero

For this week's anime review, I decided to check out a series I recently picked up that's proven to be one of the more interesting takes on ancient mythology I've seen: Fate/Zero.

Anime Review: Bleach

Hi everyone, once again it is my turn to review an anime and since toonami is airing the final episode of the English dub this weekend I figured the time was right to review Bleach.  The series is long (over 300 episodes) and as a result this review will cover the earlier part of the series.  The major premise of Bleach is the adventures of high school student Ichigo Kurosaki after he becomes a Shinigami and begins defending his friends from evil ghosts.

Anime Review: Angel Beats!

The first time I saw Angel Beats!, I marathoned the first half with my best friend from home.  We then got together to watch the second half (we have a bad habit of starting things at 10pm or later, which doesn't lend itself to marathoning, since we get tired and fall asleep.

Anyways, Angel Beats! is a fantastic anime.  It has a good mix of comedy and seriousness, and occasional tear-jerking scenes.  The overall concept is really cool, and each episode has a different self-contained plot that brings us closer to a conclusion.

Let's take a closer look!

Anime Review: [C] - The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

Economics never looked so cool.
For this week's anime review, I've decided to show off a title I picked up a while back on a whim that turned out to be very interesting and engaging. With that said, let's grab our wallets and check out [C] - The Money of Soul and Possibility Control.

Anime Review: Gosick

Hi everyone, sorry about posting so late I've been sick for a few days now and had a few exams this week.  Now to get down to business this week's topic is Gosick, which follows a high school student in a small European nation during the 1920s as he interacts with a mysterious girl genius.

Anime Review: My Little Monster

I was browsing crunchroll about a year ago when I happened to find this show.  One episode later, I was hooked.  My Little Monster (Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun) is a short, funny rom-com.  Slapstick humor, occasional seriousness, and learning about friendship are the main points in this series.

Anime Review: Cowboy Bebop

Seeing as we'll be showing this title in the Anime Club starting on the day of this post, it seems only fair I give a proper review to what is definitely my favorite anime series of all time. Without further ado, let's take a look at Cowboy Bebop.

Anime Review: K

So this week's topic is K often called K project to make it easier to identify and search for.  We watched this in club last year and it was a hit so let's get down to business.  The basic premise of the series is following the main character Shiro as he becomes involved in a conspiracy amongst the seven Kings and their vassals.  Each King has powerful abilities which are granted to their followers which they use to pursue their own goals.

Anime Review: Ginaban Kaleidoscope

I apologize for my lateness, my preparations to move in to URI ate up most of my time and I was unable to write until now.  So without further ado we move on to the business at hand.  Ginban Kaleidoscope follows Sakurano Tazusa, a teenage champion figure skater who is competing to represent Japan in the Olympics.  However she often falls at critical moments in her routine which has put her selection in question.  One day she awakens to find herself haunted by the ghost of Pete Pumps, a young Canadian stunt pilot who died in a crash and now much haunt Sakurano for 100 days.  The story follows the two of them as they adapt to their new connection and they work together to improve Sakurano's performance.

Anime Review: Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions

Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions is a really, really fantastic series.  The original name is Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai! and is a really fun, upbeat kind of show.  When we watched it in the anime club a while back, we referred to it as "8th Grade Syndrome".  This manifests as odd and, in hindsight, embarrassing behavior that a young teenager believes is the "cool" way to act.  This show is super-fun, and if you haven't seen it, I'd highly recommend it.

Anime Review: Another

While it may not be the most appropriate season for checking out a horror series, I decided to finally watch a title that was recommended to me a while back; hope you've all got strong stomachs, because it's time to check out Another.

Anime Review: Kill la Kill

Wrapping up my last posts talking about Studio Trigger and their works, I figured a good conclusion to everything would be doing a formal review of their first and only series currently made, Kill la Kill. Let's dive right in and start sewing together the story of this crazy series.

Anime Review: Maouyuu Maou Yuusha

Well it's Thursday again and it's finally my turn to do another anime review.  This time I'm going to review Maouyuu Maou Yuusha.  This show is a part of the recent fad of Demon Lord(Maou) and Hero(Yuusha) comedies that have been coming out recently. I've honestly been intending to watch this show for quite a while now and finally got around to it over the summer so while it's fresh in my mind let's get started.

Anime Review: Free!

In celebration of summer, I decided I needed a series that celebrated all things summer.  Free! seemed to be an easy choice (with a couple of people recommending it previously, and tons of swimming).  I was pleasantly surprised with what I found when I started watching it.  So let's go swimming!

Anime Review: Diebuster

Considering that the last anime I reviewed was Gunbuster, I figured it was only fair I follow it up with a review of that show's sequel series. As such, it's time to check out some more crazy-awesome mecha action with Diebuster.

Anime Review: Anohana

It's Thursday, and that means it's time for another anime review.  This week, I'll be talking a little bit about a short series with a long name.  Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai is quite a mouthful, and the English title shortened it up to just Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, which is a bit of an improvement.  However you call it, Anohana is a short series, at only 11 episodes, but it makes the most of the screentime to create an engaging and heart-wrenching story of love, loss, and growing up.
