What We Do

Hello again everyone, this week I'm going to tell you about what exactly the URI anime club does.  We meet twice a week (on Sundays and Thursdays) at 6pm in room 318 in the union and our meetings tend to last a little over 2 hours.
So what do we do for over 4 hours a week? Well as most of you probably guessed we watch anime.  Last year we tried several formats for running out meetings, but our standard meeting is 3 episodes of one show a short break to go to the bathroom and switch to the next show, followed by 3 episodes of a second show.  This set up works pretty well since we get through a show in 4 weeks which lets us watch about 6 different 12 episode shows on Sundays.  Last semester we did something different on Thursdays we started off every meeting by watching 1 episode of a show and then did some sort of activity for about 45 minutes and then watching 2 episodes of another show.  This set up makes sure we actually know who the other members are, and helps keep us from running late when we have to do something like pick new shows or have elections.  When we don't have anything administrative to do we play games like apples to apples or casually chat.

Outside of our regular meetings we mainly just run extra anime screenings, mainly for gaming club events.  Last Fall we showed Pokemon Origins for the URI Pokemon League during one of their meetings.  Our biggest event each year is our participation in URI Gaming Con which is a weekend event run by gaming club and in addition to enjoying the event we show anime during the entire weekend including the semi-infamous Eric Boyton HamHam Hour which is an hour of random episodes of Hamtaro which is the most popular part of our screening.

Well that's a general overview of what we do as a club and if anyone has any suggestions for fun stuff to do either comment below or post them on our facebook
