Manga Review: Bloody Monday

Hi again everyone, it's Sunday again which means it's time for a manga review.  This week's subject is Bloody Monday, which follows the activities of a teenage computer hacker who becomes involved in a terrorist plot.

The hero of the story is Fujimaru Takagi, a middle school student who is a world class hacker with the tag of Falcon.  His father is an anti terrorist agent for the Japanese government and when Fujimaru's online activities came to his attention he recruited him as a part time consultant for the government.  The plot of the story follows Fujimaru trying to respond to a terrorist plot using his computer skills and intelligence.

This series is very much a game of cat and mouse between Fujimaru and his allies vs the terrorists and the style of their confrontation is reminiscent of DeathNote.  The plans of both sides are in the same vein as those of Light Yagami and Lelouch so any fans of those series would be well served in trying out this manga.  There are 2 sequels to the series each of which follows Fujimaru as he deals with additional plots and conspiracies.

I hope you guys will enjoy this series and hope to see some of you tonight at URI First Night.
